In 1998, Stu Fisher etched his mark on the Brisbane comedy scene by making the finals of the Triple J RAW Comedy Competition, with his first ever performances. Since then he's shown a presence, versatility and "likeable arrogance" rarely seen in any performer. From 1999 to 2001, Stu became the first Brisbane based comedian to take a show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for 3 consecutive years, culminating in his highly acclaimed solo show "Censored" in 2001.
As well as the pull of comedy, Stu has been a headline feature on the Brisbane Jazz scene as a regular drawcard at the Brisbane Jazz Club, and as the front man of such hugely popular bands as, Midnight Syndicate and the Frank Zappa Big Band. His wit and charm on both comedy and jazz stages puts him in a class of his own, and Stu is frequently in demand for Corporate Events as an entertainer or emcee.
On screen, Stu has been involved in independent Stage and Film production and also in successful and iconic television advertising campaigns for such companies as BCF, Bank of Queensland and as the "Slow-Motion Fat Dancing Broncos Fan" for NRMA in 2009.
One of Stu's proudest achievements, however, is his journey to loose more then 50 kgs in body weight, from 2009 to 2010. A journey that, along with his wife Moniek, was filmed for a Channel 9 TV Documentary series called BIG, that will screen in 2011.
Stu has worked with such iconic performers as: Adam Hills, Akmal Saleh, Austen Tayshus, Doug Parkinson, Etype, Fiona O'Laucghlin, The Idea of North, James Morrison, Matt King, Rove, Steady Eddy & Wil Anderson, and entertained companies including: Pfizer, Price-Waterhouse-Coopers, Rio-Tinto, Curves Gym and the Queensland Cancer Council.
Quick Witted, Sharp and sometimes even charming, Stu Fisher will blow you away in all genres and in all ways, and will be a valued addition to whatever entertainment you require.
