Terms and Conditions of Sale

Tickets are sold by The Sit Down Comedy Club (“the Venue”) and are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

These Terms and Conditions relate both to the sale of tickets and attendance at events. These Terms and Conditions apply to both the original purchaser and any subsequent ticketholders (“you”).

The Sit Down Comedy Club may vary these Terms and Conditions at any time by updating them. Any variations will only apply to ticket purchases made after these Terms and Conditions have been updated.

The Venue reserves the right to add, withdraw or substitute artists and/or vary the program, prices and audience capacity of any and all Sit Down Comedy Club events.

The Sit Down Comedy Club assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in transmission, or line failure of technology experienced in the course of making a purchase to a Sit Down Comedy Club event.

Please Note – the Sit Down Comedy Club is a licensed Venue. Some performance concepts and language may offend.

Conditions of Entry
1. Every patron must have a valid ticket to be admitted for entry. The Sit Down Comedy Club Box Office is the only seller of valid tickets to Sit Down Comedy Club events at the Paddo Tavern.
2. In the event that duplicate or unauthorised copies of a ticket or tickets appear, the Venue or promoter reserves the right to refuse entry to ALL ticket holders; and/or cancel ALL tickets purchased.
3. Tickets will only be issued upon receipt of full payment. Tickets are a Tax Invoice. The total price displayed on a ticket includes GST if applicable.
4. No admittance to the Venue will be permitted to persons under the age of 18 years unless the event is advertised as a 15+ show. ID must be presented upon request.
5. Due to liquor licensing legislation, in the case of a 15+ show, all persons attending who are 15, 16 or 17 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian for the duration of the show. ID checks will be mandatory. No admittance for persons under 15 years of age. All attendees aged 18 years and over will be given a wristband, & only those with wristbands will be able to be served and make purchases from the Venue bar.
6. Patrons who purchased discount tickets (such as student, pensioner, and concession) will only be admitted upon presentation of corresponding ID on the night of the performance. Failure to produce appropriate ID may result in the patron being charged full price for their ticket.
7. Management has the right to refuse admission to anyone deemed to be intoxicated. Any patron disrupting the show will be asked to leave and no refunds on tickets will be given.
8. Latecomers will not be admitted until there is a convenient break in the program, if at all, and admission is at the discretion of the box office personnel on the night of the performance.
9. Seating for all Sit Down Comedy Club events is allocated by the Venue based on the size of booking groups and Venue configuration.
10. Patrons agree to abide by all social distancing and health protocols; and agree to follow the directions of Venue staff at all times. If patrons do not comply with protocols or authorised requests when on the Venue premises, they may be asked to leave immediately without refund or further recourse.
11. Patrons acknowledge that while the Venue has taken all reasonable precautions to keep the audience, staff and performers safe, patrons enter the Venue at their own risk without recourse to claim against the Venue regarding health outcomes.
12. The use of cameras or recording equipment is strictly forbidden at all Sit Down Comedy Club events.

Refunds and Exchanges Terms and Conditions
1. There are NO REFUNDS on any ticket, gift voucher or product except as required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law);
2. The Sit Down Comedy Club will only offer a refund or exchange of a ticket if an event is cancelled or rescheduled (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the rescheduled event), or to the extent otherwise required by law (including the Australian Consumer Law).
3. If an event is cancelled or rescheduled, all liability is limited to the amount of the ticketing transaction (including all booking fees). The Venue is not liable for any other losses incurred by you as a result of the cancellation or rescheduling of an event (including any travel and accommodation expenses).
4. All refund requests should be put in writing and directed to reception@standup.com.au and wherever possible please contact the Venue regarding this at least 48 hours prior to your event. Proof of purchase may be required for any refund or exchange.
5. Sit Down Comedy Club does not offer refunds or exchanges as a result of a change in your personal circumstances, change of mind or if you are required to self-isolate or quarantine (and the event falls within the isolation/quarantine period) due to:
    a. being a confirmed case of COVID-19; or
    b. having close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19; or
    c. living in or having been in a high-risk area within Australia; or
    d. having returned from overseas;
6. In addition to this, Sit Down Comedy Club does not offer refunds or exchanges if you:
    a. are unable to travel to attend the event due to border closures or Government lockdowns that were unforeseen at the time of sale;
    b. are awaiting COVID-19 test results (and the event falls within the period of awaiting test results); or .
    c. are currently feeling unwell with COVID-19 symptoms;
7. Any and all refunds will be automatically processed using the payment method employed by the patron in their original transaction.

Gift Voucher Terms and Conditions
1. Sit Down Comedy Club Gift Vouchers can only be redeemed for tickets to shows at the Sit Down Comedy Club at The Paddo Tavern.
2. Sit Down Comedy Club Gift Vouchers cannot be used for food and/or beverage purchases within the Paddo Tavern.
3. Sit Down Comedy Club Gift Vouchers are not redeemable for cash; and cannot be resold.
4. Gift Vouchers can be redeemed via www.standup.com.au; or by calling the Sit Down Comedy Club Box Office on 07 3369 4466. When making your booking, please indicate that a Gift Voucher is being used.
