Ciel

Ciel is recognised as one of the hottest female comics to have emerged from Sydney’s comedy scene and her career trajectory has firmly established her versatility in writing, presenting and performing.

From her stand-up comedy beginnings Ciel was employed as a key writer for the Nine Network’s Australia’s Funniest Home Videos from 2001-2005- an appointment she enjoyed and which enabled her to polish her TV writing skills to perfection. This led to Ciel securing a key position with Australia’s largest broadcaster- Southern Cross Austereo- on Sea FM, hosting Central Coast Radio’s Breakfast Show for eight years. As Breakfast Host for this market-leading show, Ciel wrote and presented celebrity gossip, social commentary and show content, comedy sketches, song parodies, pop culture – generating fresh, topical content on a daily basis for almost a decade.

Ciel has graced the ABC Radio studios as a regular guest panellist on Richard Glover’s top-rating ABC radio program Thank God It’s Friday. This followed on from co-hosting roles with the Triple M and Today FM radio network’s Breakfast shows. Stepping in for Wendy Harmer and Amanda Keller, Ciel slotted into these roles with ease and her funny, clever style received excellent audience feedback.

Between her frequent radio appearances, Ciel has found the time over the years to appear on and write for a variety of television programs including Seven’s Sunrise, ABC TV’s The Glass House and a sketch comedy pilot she helms alongside Mikey Robins and Emily Taheny that is currently in the editing room. Versatile Ciel was a regular panel member on Ten’s Beauty and the Beast, has performed as audience warm-up and has appeared in acting roles for TV.

Ciel extensively tours Australia’s national comedy rooms, mining towns and Universities as well as selling out Festival and theatre seasons. Ciel has performed from the mines of Western Australia to the comedy clubs of South East Asia and New York City and is an in-demand corporate comedian and MC.

Her corporate abilities include tailored stand-up comedy appearances, MC/hosting events, script writing, corporate trivia, and facilitating ‘hypotheticals’; as well as donating her time and talent to a variety of charity events including Red Nose Day and the No Laughing Matter gala for Suicide Prevention Australia (filmed in 2014 at the Enmore Theatre exclusively for the Comedy Channel).

Amongst her many talents, Ciel has completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Theatre Studies, completed a TheatreSports Course as well as various acting and camera courses at the Sydney Actors Centre.
