Entering the Raw Comedy Competition in 2001 - Australia's toughest and only nationwide comedy competition - Geraldine made it through to the National finals were she was awarded the runner-up position. A natural, Geraldine was born to tread the boards.
With numerous often sold-out solo shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and tours with the Festival Roadshow, Geraldine has performed with some of the world’s finest comedians – many of whom have commended her on her fresh approach to stand up. Her experience has developed her into the Thinking Crowd’s Crumpet.
Geraldine could also be heard nationally on the Triple M Network as a regular co-host of Get This with Tony Martin and Ed Kavalee. She has also done numerous publicity appearances on Triple J, NOVA and 774ABC Radio National.
In 2006, the Australian public voted Geraldine’s appearance on The Comedy Channel’s Stand up Australia in the top 10 for the Best Show of the Year. This led to her securing a spot on the Australia Day special in 2007.
In 2011, Geraldine confirmed what it seems many of her fans already knew – she’s come out of the closet. Her show Turns Out I Do Like Sun Dried Tomatoes looked back at the signs she may have missed to indicate she is totally gay. Never one to shy away from some brutal honesty, the show proved to be some of her finest works to date.
A cheeky funstar, with self-deprecating charm and a refreshing honesty in her outlook, Geraldine is a specialist of poker-faced hilarity!
