Guy Montgomery

An award-winning Kiwi stand up comedian, podcaster and improviser, in 2021, Guy won the Best Male Comedian Award at the NZ Comedy Guild Awards for the third time, having collected it previously in 2017 and 2020.

As well as the invitation-only Just For Laughs festivals in Montreal, Toronto and Sydney, and sold out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Guy has toured his upsettingly successful podcast The Worst Idea of All Time across Australia, America and the UK. HIs pre-pandemic life also saw him relocating to New York, touring India with the MICF Roadshow, and selling out solo shows in New York and LA.

Guy has appeared on Comedy Central US, and in New Zealand on Taskmaster, 7 Days and Have You Been Paying Attention?

In Australia, Guy has been seen on Ten’s The Project, Have You Been Paying Attention? and ABC TV’s Comedy Up Late, as well as the annual MICF Oxfam Gala.

In 2022, Guy toured his show in Australia, Guy Montgomery by Name, Guy Montgomery by Nature and Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, selling out to audiences at Melbourne International Comedy Festival and appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Treasure Island in New Zealand. Furthermore, Guy was one of 8 comedians to perform their solo show at Live @ The Malthouse Stand Up Series, filmed for Paramount+.

In 2023, Guy has been seen on Australian screens on Have You Been Paying Attention and in New Zealand on 7 Days and The Project NZ.

Furthermore, Guy has already experienced a series of remarkable accomplishments this year in the world of comedy. His highly anticipated TV series, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee premiered Three. Simultaneously, Guy embarked on a sold out tour throughout Australia and New Zealand of the live Spelling Bee and his new stand up show, My Brain is Blowing Me Crazy. Guy’s remarkable new show took out the Best of the Fest at Sydney Comedy Festival and the coveted Fred Award at the New Zealand Comedy Festival for Best New Show.
