Keith Cheng
Keith Cheng, (Not his real Chinese name, of course. That’s unpronounceable for Westerners…except maybe the French), has been doing stand-up since 2011 and has performed on stage over 133 times and counting (yes, he has math OCD).
Keith was born in Hong Kong and originally aiming to just finish an engineering degree and be an engineer, but then was hit by KFC’s and the UFC’s evil cousin – the GFC. Then he went back to university and tried to become an astrophysicist, only to realise that common sense was also a job requirement for sitting in front of a computer 23.9/7, talking to other nerds.
While contemplating what next to do with his life, his University Advisor told him to try stand-up and he’s been doing it ever since.
Keith was a Triple J RAW Comedy Competition QLD State Finalist in 2012 and Runner-Up in 2013. His comedy shows the audience Australia through the eyes of an international-student-turned-naturalised-Australian citizen. 99% political correctness-free, he pushes his audience to their limit and if they survive, they are rewarded with laugh-related injuries.
Unlike every other comedian, Keith can’t speak English, despite two decades of caned English lessons. Don’t worry though. He will still make you laugh.
