Lou Conran

Now then, this is usually the bit where comedians are expected to tell everyone how marvellous they are, but Lou Conran’s not particularly good at that, so she’d much rather let other people do it for her. Less awkward, less icky.

“Phenomenal” Sarah Millican

★★★★★ “Fking funny as hell!… And masterful at storytelling” – Edinburgh Guide

★★★★ “Proving you can make a stand-up show about literally anything if the performer is skilled enough”The Scotsman

Finalist – Best Show Award Funny Women

Lou is a regular host of the BBC Radio 4 Extra Comedy Club and has provided tour support for the likes of Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, John Bishop, Susi Ruffell and Lucy Beaumont, among others.

Alongside stand-up, she works as a TV warm-up artist, acts whenever she’s allowed to, and maintains a healthy addiction to chillies, cheese and various other things beginning with the letter C.

She’s a tarot reader, possesses a collection of wonderfully weirdo genes (and jeans, depending on the day), and is one half of the award-nominated podcast Spit or Swallow, which is flipping marvellous and should be listened to immediately.

Many years ago, she trained at the Oxford School of Speech and Drama, where she was frequently told off for not taking acting quite seriously enough — a sequence of events that has led, inevitably, to this.

She is also an advocate for the charity Saying Goodbye (Mariposa Trust), supporting people through the loss of a child.
