Michael Toon
One day Michael Toon may find out what he wants to do with his life.
So far he has tried being a recipient of open-heart surgery, an annoying child, a Catholic altar-boy, a Pharmacist, an Olympian, a Doctor, and a writer, in that order.
His latest endeavour involves making an audience laugh performing stand-up comedy, enjoying the same modest success as in his other pursuits.
Michael’s humour is equally dry, intelligent, warm and crude. His comedy can be at times laced with poison or infused with love, literally. Proving that he will say anything for a laugh, he proposed to his girlfriend on-stage at his local Open-Mic. Fortunately she said ‘Yes’, avoiding the ultimate in bombing.
Michael aspires to the wit of his hero, Woody Allen, without being as neurotic or oversexed. His endeavours off the stage include repeatedly driving across America, writing an autobiography of his athletic career in rowing (he is a cox, seriously, laugh away), founding the ‘Short Case Theatre Company’ and continuing to practice medicine at a major metropolitan hospital.
Check out his brand of comedy, his evolving facial hair, or at least get that troublesome rash diagnosed.
