Michele A’Court

Winner of “New Zealand Comedienne of the Decade” at the 2010 NZ Comedy Guild Awards, Michele A’Court is a stand-up comedian, actor and freelance writer.

You can’t turn on a TV or radio, or open a newspaper or magazine in New Zealand without finding her there.

Michele appears regularly on New Zealand television as a guest on the top rating comedy show, “7 Days”; and has a weekly spot reviewing the world’s weirdest news on TVNZ’s “Good Morning” show. She is a regular guest on NZ’s public radio, “Radio NZ National” as a social commentator; and she writes a weekly column on topical social issues for one of NZ’s major newspapers, The Christchurch Press.

She is also a freelance writer with a speciality in travel writing, something she has been doing since the mid-1990s.

Her international experience as a stand-up comedian includes festivals in Edinburgh, Melbourne and Adelaide, and recent club gigs in Las Vegas, San Francisco, Vancouver and Toronto. Michele has also entertained NZ and international troops in East Timor.

As an after-dinner speaker, event host and conference MC, Michele’s hundreds of corporate clients over the past 20 years include financial advisors, health care workers, classical musicians, IT specialists, plumbers, insurance specialists, bankers, builders, lawyers, electrical workers, travel agents and scientists.
