Amy Michaels & the Good Time Girls @ The Sit Down Comedy Club
Details
Amy Michaels & the Good Time Girls – wickedly funny, swinging and swooning jazz cabaret show, present their fundraiser to help them get to the Adelaide Fringe Festival this year!
What do a Brazilian drag queen, a homicidal motorist and a self-confessed ‘tart’ who claims to have slept with a thousand men and ‘anything with legs she just must mount’ have in common with an oh-so-perfect Disney Princess.
And what other jazz band sings about a great badonkadonk and mama’s mighty big 455?

All of these characters – real and unreal – are starring at The Sit Down Comedy Club at the Paddo Tavern, when ‘Amy Michaels and the Good Time Girls’ present a fundraiser and sneak peek of their latest cabaret/burlesque show, a veritable eyeball and eardrum love explosion, before their tour down south to represent Queensland at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
And you will also find out things you never thought you could do with a rubber chicken.
Named as the Adelaide Advertiser’s top pick in cabaret for 2013, Amy Michaels & the Good Time Girls promises an outrageous show in 2014.
“We’d really love our home town to come out and support live cabaret in Brisbane, and have a heap of fun while they’re at it!” Amy Michaels, the Brisbane-based band’s vocalist and songwriter said.
“’Amy Michaels and the Good Time Girls’ is about fun; letting your hair down for a while, enjoying the atmosphere, hearing some great music that will make you laugh, stomp your feet and holler; and the delectable burlesque performer Rosie Peaches, whose comedic take on burlesque & 60s go-go stylings is the sweet cherry on the top.
“’Amy Michaels and the Good Time Girls’ is a night of fantastic music, dancing, silliness and comedy; everything about having a great time!” Amy said.
”It’s a roller coaster cabaret act from beginning to end, a night of fun and mischief, quirky original tunes, swinging toe-tapping jazz standards and tongue-in-cheek burlesque that will make you giggle and swoon.
Joining Amy and Rosie Peaches are the Good Time Girls James Ball – piano, Phil Jack – bass, Gene Stevens – drums, and a special guest Ben Drozdovskii on violin … (they don’t look great in skirts).
From an intimate setting to a big ‘get off your brass’ sound, ‘Amy Michaels & the Good Time Girls’ is an act not to be missed.
