Who doesn’t love a cheeky Sunday Sesh! The Sit Down Comedy Club is proud to present our version of a Sunday Sesh – a showcase of some of the best up & coming comic talent that South East Queensland has to offer!

On Sunday 19 September 2021, join us for a laid back, laugh a minute show, featuring six local acts bringing the funny and delivering the laughs. This Sunday Sesh guarantees a hilarious end to your weekend – don’t miss out!

Jonny Haselam
Jonny Haselam's pleasing mix of music and comedy leaves every audience doubled over— very few combine perfect comedic timing with tangible musical ability, but Jonny Haselam does and brings the heat.

He’s a Gold Coast local who has been destroying audiences and making waves; and a Queensland RAW Comedy Finalist who can be seen regularly smashing gigs around Queensland.

Lorna Bremner
Australian Muay Thai Champion, stand-up comedian, and chronic overachiever, Lorna Bremner is one of the most exciting (and terrifying) new voices in the Queensland comedy scene. When she isn’t kicking people in the teeth for her day job, she’s writing about herself in the third person and yelling jokes over the dings of pokie machines in taverns across the state.

She was a 2020 RAW Comedy State Finalist and has performed her special brand of charming idiocy spliced with (frankly, too much) obscenity across Australia -  and America too - including the iconic Comedy Works in Denver, Colorado. She has also received development funding from Screen Queensland to produce a proof-of-concept for her comedy web series, “apps”, and she is a co-producer on the mayhem that is The Dusty Rich Comedy Circus.

It may be a dangerous world we live in, sure, but Lorna believes that the real danger is inside our heads; besides comedy, Muay Thai, and video production, her real passion is in raising awareness about how mental we all accidentally are.

Codie Grimsey
Codie Grimsey’s dry, deadpan styled humour has captivated literally tens of people all over the north Brisbane region. His awkward stage presence has been likened to a tall Luke McGregor. He made it through to the Queensland State Final in the 2020 RAW Comedy competition in his first ever attempt, so that’s something.

Sandeep Totlani
Born and raised in India, Sandeep Totlani is a pizza eating competition winner and a trained dentist (because some stereotypes are good). Sandeep discovered Stand-up comedy by accident when he watched Russell Peters on YouTube and entered Australia’s prestigious RAW comedy competition while on a student visa. Since then, he has fallen in love with all things funny and been a regular at Australian Comedy venues.

Juggling between the Indian and Western culture, Sandeep has performed comedy in 3 languages on some of the biggest stages across Australia and India supporting big time local and international acts like Danny Bhoy, Zakir Khan, Damien Power, Matt Okine, Becky Lucas, Ivan Aristeguieta, Atul Khatri and Jeeveshu Ahluwalia to name-drop a few. His perspective is fresh, stage persona likeable and style of comedy, both intriguing and hilarious.

BJ Connolly
BJ Connolly loves using his comedy as a platform to inspire other people on the autism spectrum to become more confident. He loves making jokes about all the all the awkward social encounters he experienced during his childhood, whilst attempting to develop his social skills and better understand the neurotypical world.

His comedy performances are always very eccentric and super high energy. He loves dancing around on stage and blowing kisses at the crowd.
BJ also hasn’t had a wank for four years and he is extremely popular with girls who have borderline personality disorder. He used to identify as asexual but in 2020 he finally came out as STRAIGHT.
His proudest comedy moments to date include qualifying for the Queensland State Grand Final of RAW Comedy in 2020 and hosting a comedy show in Lismore, NSW which featured Aussie comedy legend Steady Eddy as the headliner.
BJ also has a reality dating show on YouTube called “Third-Wheeling With BJ” where he organises for a random guy and a girl to go on a date and acts as their wingman, offering his most outrageous relationship advice from an autistic perspective.
2022 is set to be a big year for BJ as he plans to start releasing original music on streaming platforms as he aspires to become Australia’s biggest comedy-popstar!

Ethan Simiana
Born and raised in the sunshine state, Ethan Simiana is a comedian on the rise who shines a light on the absurdity of living in the modern age with a uniquely retrospective lens.

Ethan has built up an impressive catalogue of material performing around Australia since 2017. Featuring wry wit expertly interwoven into stories and observations, he has established an act that has sold out festival shows, garnered rave reviews and received runner-up honours at the Queensland RAW Comedy Competition. With aspirations to delight and challenge audiences around the world, he is always working hard to write quality original material that tickles the funny bone of audiences from all walks of life. In his eyes, no joke is ever finished, and no topic is ever too sacred to explore.

An up and coming comedian in the ever-growing  Australian comedy scene, Ethan Simiana is a performer who you won’t want to miss - and soon won’t be able to ignore.
