Our monthly Stitch in the ‘swich Comedy Series is back for 2025!

This month features Andrew Nason, Codie Grimsey, Mick Neven, and Nicky Wilkinson!

Andrew Nason
Andrew Nason propelled himself onto the Australian comedy scene in 1994. A former high school teacher, Andrew felt the relative quiet of a comedy club audience would be a welcome change from the various classrooms where he had been performing…

With a keen wit and incisive style, he remains one of the most popular comedians on the SE Qld Comedy Circuit, both as a headline act and M.C. He has performed at all the major comedy venues in Australia, as well as venues in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. He’s also very tall.

Andrew displayed his talent as a comedy writer for the ABC, on their satirical comedy program Backburner. He has also written and performed in several celebrity debates as well as corporate impersonators, for which he has written specific material for various clients, most of them shorter than him.

Andrew also has a number of Film and TV projects in pre-production, and has produced and directed several short films for film festivals and corporate clients. He has also had roles in a number of feature films. He’s also very tall.

A professional improviser as well as comedian, Andrew is able to combine these skills in his performances, therefore presenting a show that is fresh and constantly evolving and changing.

Codie Grimsey
Codie Grimsey is a Brisbane based comedian who has a dry, awkward, deadpan style of humour. Growing up as a freakishly tall, red-head meant he had to use comedy to cope with the constant torment that came with looking like the love-child of Ronald McDonald and a Fridge.

Codie’s awkward stage presence has been likened to that of the famous Luke McGregor. He mixes hilariously awkward true stories from his childhood with short and not so witty one liners, giving audiences a unique and refreshing change to anything else they have seen before. As a relative newcomer to the stand up comedy scene, in 2020 he was successful in making the RAW comedy competition QLD state final.

Mick Neven
One of Australia’s busiest comedians, Mick is just as comfortable on-stage at the biggest comedy clubs and corporate functions in the city, and the smallest venues and sporting clubs in the country.

“Mick Neven’s stand-up is so slick…he’s seriously entertaining” 3.5 Stars, The Age 2012.

“Go see his show – it’s good shit” 4 Stars, The Herald Sun 2012.

His material is observant, sharp and satirical, highlighting the foibles of modern life in a likeable and relatable fashion. It’s intelligent, hilarious and sometimes political, delivered with high-energy and a never-ending stream of punchlines that continually take his jokes to the next level.

‘Mick is one of the best writers on the Comedy Circuit. Every time I work with him, he pulls out new jokes that I wish I’d written’ – Dave O’Neil – Comedian and Television Personality

With over 10 years on the Australian Comedy Circuit under his belt he now Headlines every state, including The Comics Lounge, The Basement on the Gold Coast, Little Creatures in WA and more. He’s also worked with, learnt from and stolen jokes from the biggest names in the business.

‘I’ve worked with a lot of comedian’s at a lot of Functions and Sportsman’s Nights, and Mick Neven’s comedy set is one of the best I’ve seen’ – David (the Ox) Schwarz – AFL Footballer and media personality

A regular guest on ABC Grandstand and Melbourne’s 1116 SEN radio, Mick has also appeared on The Circle (See Mick on The Circle) and Hey Hey It’s Saturday (Channel 9). He’s travelled to entertain Aussie troops serving overseas and appeared in his own solo shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and The Adelaide Fringe.

Nicky Wilkinson
UK comedian Nicky Wilkinson is also a talented and versatile actress, voice-over artist and presenter.

An accomplished MC, Nicky’s warm, likeable, down-to-earth style instantly eases audiences. Her comedy mixes charming, real-life anecdotes with just the right dose of self-deprecation and often brilliantly funny improvised riffs with the crowd.

Nicky is a regular on the stand-up circuit in the UK and abroad after reaching the finals of prestigious comedy competitions So You Think You’re Funny and New Act of the Year.

As comfortable on screen and radio as she is on stage, Nicky has a repertoire of characters the likes of Cheryl (South London Minicab Driver) and Mistress Quickly (the wench in Shakespeare’s A Comedy Of Errors.)

Alongside Claire Ford, Nicky is also one half of multi-award winning physical comedy duo, The Kagools.
