With sold out runs in London and at the 2026 Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals,The Accidental Lawyer is a fast-paced stand-up show from former Warner Bros. studio executive Nick Abrahams. Nick worked in Los Angeles on the hit TV shows ER and The West Wing, and produced and appeared in a film with Woody Allen. He then turned his back on fame, fortune and genuine insincerity to return to Australia to be a … lawyer. What?

In the show, Nick pulls back the curtain on what Hollywood taught him about life, love and plastic surgery – along with the deeply unsettling discovery that many of the most successful people in the world also appear to have absolutely no idea what they are doing.

Definitely not just for lawyers, the show takes aim at the comforting illusion that careers follow some grand strategic plan. Nick explores the far more common reality: most careers are a chaotic mix of luck, accidents and at least one poor decision that your parents still bring up at family events.

Audiences love the stories where Nick pulls back the curtain on Hollywood including his awkward encounters with stars like Woody Allen, Gene Simmons (KISS), Minnie Driver, Kate Hudson, Tara Reid and Bill Withers.

The show is 100% clean – bring your Mum.

Nick’s own career path has been anything but conventional. He was a successful stand-up comedian in Tokyo, hosted his own television show and was billed as “the Seinfeld of Japan” before attending the University of Southern California Film School, working at Warner Bros. and ultimately returning to Australia to pursue the glamour and excitement of legal practice.

“A master storyteller… Blending stand-up comedy with fascinating insights into AI, business & modern life, Abrahams delivered an engaging & genuinely funny performance that kept the audience laughing from beginning to end… What made this performance especially memorable was how unique it felt compared to traditional stand-up comedy. He brought together entertainment, insight and lived experience in a way that felt refreshing and modern… a naturally captivating performer.” Ellie Seymour, What’s On Sydney

“Hilarious … an eloquent and engaging showman” Alex First, 3AW Radio

“Fun! … The 200+ Audience members cheered Nick and laughed lots… Nick is a virtuoso.” Carol Dance, Sydney Arts Guide

“I’m not a lawyer, but I loved The Accidental Lawyer. It’s clean, laugh-out-loud funny and full of entertaining insider insights into Hollywood, artificial intelligence and the surprising ingredients of a fulfilling career” Hayley Baillie, Baillie Lodges
