Accessibility

At the Sit Down Comedy Club, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive venue. We have alternative access and facilities available at the club for those who may have mobility restrictions. When making a booking please let us know your individual needs and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.

The following is some information we have available to ensure your visit to our venue is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Should you require any further information, feel free to contact the SDCC Box Office on 07 3369 4466.

Booking Information
To enhance your visit and provide you with the best experience possible, we kindly request that you provide us with as much information about your needs as you can at the time of booking. For phone bookings, please let SDCC staff know your requirements. For online bookings, you can enter in information via the prompt that appears as part of the booking process:

Parking
The best parking for people with disabilities is near the bottle shop/drive thru on the lower level of The Paddo Tavern (enter via Campbell Street). Please note that The Paddo’s onsite multi storey carpark does not have a lift.

Club Entry
Entrance to The Sit Down Comedy Club via the main entry on Given Terrace requires the use of a staircase. Should your mobility requirements preclude you from being able to safely navigate stairs, alternative entry to the club is available on the lower level of The Paddo Tavern near the drive thru bottle shop (entrance via Campbell Street).

Upon arrival at The Paddo, head to the drive thru bottle shop counter and let the staff know you are there for the Comedy Club – they will radio the club and a staff member will come out to guide you through to the accessible entrance.

Accessible Seating
The Sit Down Comedy Club has dedicated seating options for patrons using wheelchairs and their guests. Should you require this type of seating or have other seating requirements, please let us know at the time of your booking.

Accessible Toilets
The Sit Down Comedy Club has an accessible toilet located within the main club space of the venue, located near the front desk/box office.

Food and Drink
Our friends at The Paddo look after all food and beverage service in the club space, with food and drinks available both before and during shows. Ordering directly from the bar does involve navigating a small staircase, however patrons do not need to access the bar area to place their order – all tables are equipped with QR Codes, so ordering can be done directly from your seat/s!

Please note: While beverages are always available in the club both before and during shows, food is unfortunately not available in the club for shows with a duration of 60mins or less. For shows of this length, we recommend eating upstairs in the Paddo Tavern Restaurant either before or after the show. To make a reservation, please call The Paddo on 07 3369 0044.

Companion Card
The Sit Down Comedy Club is a registered member of the Queensland Government’s Companion Card program. For persons with a disability and a lifelong need for ‘attendant care support’ to participate in community activities and attend venues, the authorised Companion Card helps with the associated costs of getting out and about with the support of a companion. Companion Card holders receive a second ‘companion’ ticket at no charge. The ‘companion’ ticket is also exempt from booking fees. An official Companion Card must be presented upon request in order to purchase this ticket type from SDCC; & the option is available only by phoning the SDCC Box Office on 07 3369 4466 – it cannot be bought online.

Guide and Assistance Dogs
We welcome patrons accompanied by guide or assistance dogs at The Sit Down Comedy Club. Please notify SDCC at the time of your booking (via either the online booking prompt or over the phone) if you plan to visit The Sit Down Comedy Club with your support dog.
